Leadership and Volunteer
"The Sticker Lady" - Maverick Bench Foundation (March '20-Present)
• I learned about the Bench family from a mutual friend. I found myself
designing and selling stickers for the family, which has raised almost $10K. I
continue to sell stickers, buttons and keychains for the soon-to-be non-
profit and will carry on working to provide hope and relief to families in need
in the Flathead Valley.
Housekeeper - Canvas Church (January '19-March '20)
Student Representative — Azusa Pacific University (May ’18-Aug. ’18)
• Regular meetings with Director of Nursing to enhance learningexperience,
improve outcomes, and support learning environment of classmates
Community Health Practicum Opportunities (2019)
• Pasadena Public Health — Assisted in communicable disease investigation,
phone education for patients, and immunization clinics.
• Foothill Unity Center and Food Bank — Assisted with food sorting and
distribution, preventative health education
• Dream Street Camp — All campers are children with terminal or chronic
illnesses who do not qualify to attend other summer camps. The camp does not
turn away any child for being "too ill," however extensive vital signs,
examinations and medication reconciliation is necessary at check-in. I assisted
with vital signs, monitoring for heat exhaustion, and counseling campers about
modifications to avoid complications at camp (eg. choosing a different hat to
wear, taking frequent rests, and drinking cold beverages or eating popsicles to
allow for temperature regulation)
Street Education Team Member — Hope Heart Institute (2011-2013)
Volunteer & Farm Manager — Lighthouse Group Home (2007-2009)
• Lighthouse is a faith-based group home for developmentally disabled adults.
My tasks included managing the livestock and garden while including residents in the work. The goal of Lighthouse is to empower their residents to live
productive, functional lives and to give them skills and motivation to support
the farm and home. Other tasks involved practicing with and preparing
residents for Special Olympic events and fundraisers, participating in daily
devotions, having meaningful conversations, and finding healthy outlets for
emotional and physical needs. Though I no longer volunteer with Lighthouse, I
still maintain close relationships with residents and staff.
